Osteoporosis mainly affects older people, but can affect anyone.

Seasonal Flu Vaccination

Flu (also known as influenza) is a highly infectious illness caused by the flu virus. It spreads rapidly through small droplets coughed or sneezed into the air by an infected person. For most people, flu is unpleasant but not serious. You will usually recover within a week.

Studies have shown that flu vaccines provide effective protection against the flu, although protection may not be complete and may vary between people. Protection from the vaccine gradually decreases and flu strains change over time. Therefore, new vaccines are made each year and people at risk of flu are encouraged to be vaccinated every year.

The flu vaccination is offered to people in at-risk groups. These people are at greater risk of developing serious complications if they catch flu, such as pregnant women and elderly people.

If you are eligible for a flu vaccine, you will be invited in due course.

Read all about the flu vaccination and who should have one on the NHS website.

Teenage Health

Central surgery has a wealth experience in dealing with people of all ages, including our teenage patients. You do not need to have an adult with you when you come to your appointment. If any matters do need to be discussed with anyone else or you need to be referred for specialist opinion this would be made very clear to you during your consultation.

We would like you to feel that you are welcome at the surgery and trust us to look after your health needs.

Travel Health

Planning on travelling abroad?

Please speak to a member of the reception team who will provide you with a Travel vaccine request form for completion.
