Who do I see?
The Central Surgery is a triage first practice.
To make an appointment for an URGENT medical issue you can call our number 0116 2712175 or visit the Practice in person any time during opening hours 8am to 6.30pm.
You can use our online service to request a NON-URGENT appointment or submit an administrative query.
For all NON-URGENT requests or follow up appointments please follow the AccuRx link, it is very simple to fill out the request form so please do give it a go. Don’t worry if you can’t complete this online; you can still call us and our team will complete the form for you over the telephone.
A GP will then decide which type of clinician will be most appropriate to help you and a receptionist will contact you by return AccuRx message or by telephone to arrange the appointment.
Our Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and Pharmacist appointments can be booked in advance but our GP appointments are booked on the day.
Video consultations are carried out using a service called AccuRx. You may be sent a text message to securely access your video consultation with a GP.
As part of the Oadby and Wigston PCN, the practice offers weekday morning (7.30-8am) and some evening (6.30-8pm, 9.30 pm on Fridays) appointments as well as Saturday appointments (9am-5pm).
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling 0116 271 2175 before 11.00am
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
